Maytag Washer Error Codes
Understanding error codes can help you pinpoint issues faster. Here are some common Maytag washer error codes and their solutions:
Press the Control Lock button to deactivate it. For older models, consult the Owner's Manual to locate the correct button. Some models require holding the button for a few seconds.
Check that the detergent cartridge is properly inserted and the dispenser drawer is fully closed. If using single-dose detergent, this message can be ignored.
Wait 20–30 minutes for the washer to complete spinning and draining. Then, press the Pause/Cancel button twice and the Power button once. If the code remains, unplug the washer for one minute to reset it.
Remove any items from the drum and restart the Clean Washer cycle.
Ensure you are using HE (High-Efficiency) detergent. Check the drain hose for kinks or blockages. If you used thickened liquid bleach, switch to standard bleach. Allow the washer to extend its rinse time to clear suds.
Ensure all shipping bolts have been removed, and the washer is not overloaded. Press the Pause or Cancel button twice and the Power button once to clear the code.
